Leadership Program
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
YMCA Camp Wapsie offers a multi-year Leadership Development Program to develop leadership potential in high school-age youth beginning for those entering 10th -12th grade. Participants are campers who assume additional responsibilities towards the leadership program. The Leader in Training (LITs) and Counselor in Training (CITs) will pay a fee and attend a three-week training (LIT) or a four-week training (CIT), while working with counselors, staff and directors to ensure policies are met.
Leadership and human relation skills will be increased while developing an appreciation for the natural world around us. LIT and CITs will be expected to attend regular training sessions and s how a desire to learn. They will promote group unity and participate in group activities as well as displaying good conduct and cooperation with all camp personnel. Duties will include assisting in program activities (Ex: morning activities, Day Camp), camp activities both inside and outside (Ex: cooking, fire building), completing other projects as assigned (Ex: service projects, trip planning).
You must apply to register for the Leadership programs. The computer may allow you to register but if you did not apply you will be removed.
