YMCA Camp Wapsie strives to provide a safe and fun environment where children can challenge themselves while learning new skills in an outdoor environment. Programs built around fun and character development are designed to give different age groups the optimum experience and tie into their interests and abilities.
Adventure Trips are for youth entering 7th – 12th grades. YMCA Camp Wapsie offers some amazing out-of-camp adventure trips! After a thorough orientation at camp, campers load up their gear and head to their destination!
YMCA Camp Wapsie offers Day Camp programs with a variety of outdoor activities similar to those at Resident Camp. Day Camp provides a positive social experience with similar-aged youth. Then campers return home in the evening for that all important family time and evening activities.
The YMCA Camp Wapsie Leadership Development program fosters leadership growth in high school students and prepares them for future life experiences. The program is divided into two positions, each with an emphasis on building different sets of leadership skills.
In addition to online registration, some required forms include the Parent Packet, (for Day and Resident Camps).
Making Camp affordable and attainable for all kids!
At Wapsie and the Y, we understand families have differing abilities to pay. To better accommodate many income levels, Camp Wapsie has tired pricing levels. Simply choose the one you can best afford.
How it Works:
Tier A most accurately reflects the true and accurate cost of YMCA Camp Wapsie.
Tier B is partially subsidized rate, but more closely reflects the actual cost of camp.
Tier C is Camp’s historically subsidized rate, which does not represent the true cost of camp. This rate is subsidized by the work of volunteers, fundraising and sustaining contributions.
Our tiered pricing system in no way influences the experience your child will receive! We want to share the true cost of running Camp Wapsie and give families some choice in how much they can contribute toward their child’s experience. Please select the highest tier you can afford to allow YMCA Camp Wapsie to best stretch out funding and continue to improve the quality of each camper’s experience.
