Stage 4 Stroke Introduction September 25

To be in level 4 you must be able to swim front and back crawl over half the length of the pool  (15 yards), Swim float swim the entire length of the pool (25 yards), and tread water for 1 minute.

Students in stage 4 develop stroke technique in front and back crawl, and learn breast and butterfly kick. Water safety is reinforced through treading water and elementary backstroke.

Stage 5 Stroke Development September 2025

VIEW
To be in level 5 you must be able to swim 15 yards using the following strokes: front crawl with rotary breathing, back crawl, and elementary backstroke (and 25 yards of one or a combination of these strokes). You should also be able to do the kicks for breaststroke and butterfly for 15 yards.

Students in stage 5 work on stroke technique and learn all major competitive strokes. The emphasis on water safety continues through treading water and sidestroke.
