Job Title: Camper Services Director
FLSA Status: Non Exempt-Seasonal
Reports to: Summer Camp & Retreats Director

POSITION SUMMARY

With direction from the full time directors, the Camper Services Director is to be responsible for the operation of the camp store and all of the financial transactions involved with its operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Assists in making orders of merchandise and vending items for the camp store and keeps an Keeps accurate inventory of all vending & merchandise items in camp store.
2. Makes orders as needed with assistance from the SCRD to assure adequate supply is on hand.
3. Keeps accurate records of participants store accountincluding:
         Receives deposits from campers on Sunday and enters them into camper’s store accounts.
         Accurately calculates and returns refunds to the campers on Saturday mornings.
        Gives money for processing to the office.
4. Supervises staff working in the store and assures that procedures are followed.
5. Manages all incoming camper mail, including e-mails. Mails all outgoing camper mail and deducts money for postage from their store account if needed.
6. Chairs a committee to schedule one special day.
7. Be in attendance at the weekly 1:00 PM Sunday staff meeting and all program team meetings as needed.
8. Complete required evaluations of participants in leadership programs.
9. Takes charge of camp recycling program.
10. Assists in other activities as needed, when store is not open or stocking is not required.
11. Cleans the store and keeps it free from debris and clutter.
12. Works with the leaders of Arts and Crafts, Horses, and riflery to conduct sales of program resale items or their tickets and communicate with horses for afternoon rides.
13. Participate in all of the courses, activities, classes, training, and planning sessions during the weeks of program pre-camp and pre-camp.
14. Creates and maintains a harmonious, positive working relationship with fellow staff, campers, and participants.
15. May supervise a cabin of LIT/CITs. Must be flexible, if assistance is needed in a cabin or other camp areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess computer, communication, and leadership skills. 
  •  Must be responsible for several budget line items and be organized in record keeping on computer and hard copies, as well.
  • Enjoys working and interacting with people of all types and ages, with a special emphasis on children, modeling and utilizing the important core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
  •  Must have current First Aid and CPR certifications. Lifeguard certification and tower training encouraged.
